Reconfiguring RabbitMQ
This guide will give an overview on how KubeDB Ops-manager operator reconfigures RabbitMQ cluster.
Before You Begin
- You should be familiar with the following KubeDBconcepts:
How does Reconfiguring RabbitMQ Process Works
The following diagram shows how KubeDB Ops-manager operator reconfigures RabbitMQ database components. Open the image in a new tab to see the enlarged version.
The Reconfiguring RabbitMQ process consists of the following steps:
- At first, a user creates a - RabbitMQCustom Resource (CR).
- KubeDBProvisioner operator watches the- RabbitMQCR.
- When the operator finds a - RabbitMQCR, it creates required number of- StatefulSetsand related necessary stuff like secrets, services, etc.
- Then, in order to reconfigure the - RabbitMQdatabase the user creates a- RabbitMQOpsRequestCR with desired information.
- KubeDBOps-manager operator watches the- RabbitMQOpsRequestCR.
- When it finds a - RabbitMQOpsRequestCR, it halts the- RabbitMQobject which is referred from the- RabbitMQOpsRequest. So, the- KubeDBProvisioner operator doesn’t perform any operations on the- RabbitMQobject during the reconfiguring process.
- Then the - KubeDBOps-manager operator will replace the existing configuration with the new configuration provided or merge the new configuration with the existing configuration according to the- MogoDBOpsRequestCR.
- Then the - KubeDBOps-manager operator will restart the related StatefulSet Pods so that they restart with the new configuration defined in the- RabbitMQOpsRequestCR.
- After the successful reconfiguring of the - RabbitMQcomponents, the- KubeDBOps-manager operator resumes the- RabbitMQobject so that the- KubeDBProvisioner operator resumes its usual operations.
In the next docs, we are going to show a step by step guide on reconfiguring RabbitMQ database components using RabbitMQOpsRequest CRD.
